Affiliate & editorial disclosure
Last updated June 14, 2026
How we make money
Healthcare Technology Online is supported by two revenue streams: affiliate referrals and sponsored placements. We do not accept paid review placements, paid score adjustments, or compensation in exchange for editorial coverage.
Affiliate partnerships
When you click a link to a vendor and sign up for a paid plan, HTO may earn a one-time or recurring referral commission. This does not change your price and does not change our review of the product. We disclose affiliate relationships on every review page in the article header, on the CTA buttons, and again next to the final recommendation.
Vendors that have an affiliate or referral arrangement with HTO as of this writing include: Practice Better, SimplePractice, Healthie, Jane App, Tebra, and Carepatron. If we add or remove a vendor, this list is updated within 7 days.
Sponsored content
Sponsored placements are labeled "Sponsored" in the headline, are visually distinct from editorial content (typically with a colored background or border), and are excluded from editorial rankings. Sponsors do not see editorial reviews before publication and have no influence over our scoring rubric.
Independence policy
Our editorial scores are produced by the methodology described on our methodology page and are independent of any commercial relationship. If a vendor we cover terminates its affiliate program, the editorial review remains exactly as written — we simply remove the affiliate link. If a vendor disputes a factual point, we will investigate and correct if warranted, with a timestamped correction note.
FTC compliance
This site complies with the FTC's Endorsement Guides (16 CFR §255). Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored" in the HTML source per Google's affiliate-link guidance, and the relationship is disclosed in plain language at the top of every review and adjacent to each affiliate CTA.
